PRODUCT SOLUTION: TVM Bubble Barrier Foil
- Method 1 - Use Bubble Barrier rFoil (1220-48-125) 48" Width
- Method 2 - Use Bubble Barrier rFoil (1220-16-125) 16" Width w/tabs (24" available).
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
- Bubble Barrier rFoil is 96% reflective, very puncture resistant and easy to apply.
PRODUCT EFFECTIVENESS: - Due to high temperature differentials in radiant applications for optimal performance, it is recommended to use two layers of TVM, combining methods 1 and 2, or install fiberglass insulation below the TVM insulation.
WOOD JOINT INSTALLATION: Bubble Barrier rFoil
- Method 1:
- 1) Unroll & staple 48" wide Bubble Barrier rFoil under the floor joints.
- 2) Seal the joints and perimeter using rFoil regular foil tape 3" Wide (04603).
- Method 2:
- 1) Using 16" wide Bubble Barrier rFoil with staple tabs. Insert the material between the joints 2" - 4" below heating coils, or as recommended by manufacturer instructions.
- Staple to joints.
- Seal ends using rFoil regular foil tape 3" Wide (04603).
BUILDER'S NOTE: - Sealing rim joists with rFoil will improve efficiency. Also, all tape should be applied using a flat-edge taping tool to ensure good adhesion.
