FEDERAL REBATES:
Impact of the American Recovery and Re-investment Act
On February 17, 2009 President Obama signed the American Recovery and Re-investment Act of 2009 into law. With the passage of this new legislation, homeowners who purchase and install a qualifying Heat Transfer boiler or water heater between Jan. 1, 2009 and Dec. 31, 2010 will now be eligible for a tax credit equal to 30% of the full purchase and installation price up to a maximum of $1500. When purchasing a solar water heater you will receive 30 percent off the total, without the limitation of a cap. In addition, many state and local governments and utility companies offer other incentives or rebates which can potentially further reduce the cost of installing energy efficient products.
